If you are planning to carry out work on your property, you may need to serve your adjoining neighbour with a notice under the Party Wall Act.

Building Owner? (I am doing the work)
For works that affect a party wall you are required to give two calendar months’ Notice before those works commence.
Adjoining Owner? (My neighbour is doing work)
If you have received a Notice about neighbours’ proposed works, you are required to respond, within 14 days from the date on the Notice.
